what we've really been up to.

best picture ever, right?
starving after the wedding:)

well, after nate and i got married, as you can imagine, we went on a honeymoon. we went to florida! i loved it. it was colder than it should have been, but it was super fun. we went to universal studios and went to the best beaches in america. here are some highlights:
siesta key--the most beautiful sand.. eva
nate got to go to buffalo wild wings... where his cronies (he wishes)  dan patrick and the danettes hang out
and i happened to be followed by everything chuck bass! his hotel is even in florida!
it was so much fun and i am so sad it's over.

now... we are both back in school. nate is in his last semester and (hopefully) he graduates! i still have like 34 years of school left... grr. we are living in my aunt amy's basement and there's a 35 minute commute... which is not great. we carpool, but it's kind of a pain in my arse. it's been an adjustment to be married. it seems like once you get married, none of your friends want to even hang out. it's weird, but i know being married is much more important than friends. i guess we will just have to make friends with other married people... gross. kidding, of course. we've been watching the oc... it's awesome. that's one thing i love about being married... watching tv series. doesn't it seem like all marrieds do that? ha. nate is hoping to find a full time job soon and when he does, we will get our own place. i'm really excited to be an "official" married couple and have a place to call our own. til then, i am so grateful for my aunt and uncle's help. nate's SIL... well i guess she's mine, too, had her baby last week. she is so cute. i usually think newborns are ugly, but she is the dang cutest thing i've ever seen. having nieces and nephews is so much fun and i'm so excited for nate that he gets to experience this.

i am definitely a different person since i got married. i am more conscious of others' feelings and i am more supportive of those i love. i am still in love with chuck bass and blair waldorf... don't you worry.
my wedding was such a ball. i watch the videos and i just want to cry because i want to relive that day over and over again.
http://vimeo.com/35270831
http://vimeo.com/35270416

although marriage is an adjustment, i really do love it. sometimes i get sad when i see my single friends doing things, but then i realize what's important and i am so glad i have that with nate. ew. i am so cheesy.

as far as music goes, i have been enjoying gotye, young the giant, and lana del rey lately. nate hates lana. hates. maybe it's because i play her 100x a day. but i do that with every song i love. so he is just going to have to get used to it.
that's all for now!
xoxo

musical

Hey guys... well. A thing I love: Music
So here you go. I'll share. You can thank me later. Or now. Either one.
I know a lot of these aren't new, but this is just what I have been into a lot lately.

ALBUMS:
Panic! At The Disco: Vices and Virtues
Now  you must know, I am an avid Panic! fan. I love them. It's hard for my love for a band to continue to grow, however, when their other albums are less than great compared to their first. Pretty.Odd was just that. It wasn't great, and it was WAY different from their first one. This one, however, I feel is reverting back to their old ways. Although the band is not the same, this album is one I am enjoying lately.

The Avett Brothers: I and I Love You
Ah! Yes, I know this album is not "new," but I love it! My dad and I took a road trip to Idaho to visit my grandparents. (We also went up to Ashton where my dad grew up.) We listened to this quite a bit. I loved. He loved. It was great QT.

Mumford & Sons: Sigh No More
If you like The Avett Brothers, you will most definitely like these guys. Did anyone see their performance at the Grammy's? Awesome. I also showed my dad these guys and he loved. They are really fresh and unique and passionate.

Maroon 5: It Won't Be Soon Before Long
This CD is great! I love M5, and this is one of their better albums. The song with Lady Antebellum... that's a great song!

Adele:21
Ah! I was never an avid Adele fan, but this album did it for me! I love it! "Turning Tables" is AWESOME. The only songs I liked on her last album were "Chasing Pavements" and "Hometown Glory." This CD definitely outdid her last album... which is always a good sign.

SONGS:
Christina Perri: "Arms", "The Lonely"
"The Lonely" might be a little bit too emo for most people. It was for me until I found out what it was about. It is about just being alone and being satisfied alone. It has nothing to do with being "lonely." "Arms" is awesome. I memorized it the day it came out.
OneRepublic: "All We Are"
Katherine showed me this one. It's really great. OneRepublic never disappoints.
Sara Bareilles: "Fairytale"
Yes, I know it's old, but as I was watching Tangled, I thought of this song. This is an awesome song. Love her. A lot.
Dixie Chicks: "Top of the World"
The Dixie Chicks are awesome. This song has some deep meaning and it is awesome. Although not originally done by them, it's way better performed by them.

Anyways, those are a few that have been on my playlist lately. I suggest you check em out!

What I love lately. Or who I love lately.

Yes, mustaches and all

The Killers!
I haven't listened to them (REALLY listened to them) in awhile and I heard them in Buckle today and it rekindled my love for them.
I don't know what song I heard and I'm desperately trying to find it! Frustration squiggle!
BUT
Tranquilize ft Lou Reed is amazing. Reminds me of a trip to AZ with my dad. You should definitely listen to it. Seriously though, their last album was released in 2008. It's 2011. Ridiculous.
He has one of those voices that no matter where you are, you know it's him.
PS I think I found that song. I think it's called Boots. Of course it would be sappy and slow haha.

Take a listen, friends.

Jarrod Gorbel & Nicole Atkins

Him:

I'm miserable without you
so much so i have to
Let go of my hometown
Brooklyn i was so proud
I'm leaving New York for California

Her:

I'm better off without you
you're always in a bad mood
dark clouds over sunshine
rain out all the good times
stay out of my life in California

Both:

Stay where you are, we're better apart in California
I'm leaving New York for California

Him:

Your blue eyes and the sunshine
red wine under moonlight
classic like a painting
sculpture of an angel
cute like a cartoon batting her lashes

Her:

push me off the bed while you sleep
or squeeze me til I cant breathe
all elbows and knees
I got bruises from your bad dreams
you're always pissed off
I can't make you happy

Both:

Stay where you are, we're better apart in California
I'm leaving New York for California

Her:

Can you change?
Can you prove me wrong?

Him:

I can change
I can prove you wrong

I'm miserable without you
so much so I have to
let go of my hometown
Brooklyn I was so proud
I'm leaving New York for California

Two of my favorites made a song together! YES!
His new EP is coming out on Tuesday. I couldn't be more excited.
Lady GaGa's new single is NOT as bad as I thought it would be. It's NOT as good as her other songs, of course, but that's to be expected when you get all political. (Damn you GaGa.)
Kate Voegele's guy sent me some signed merchandise to auction off for my mom's fundraiser.
Who wouldn't come to this? Who's gonna try to outbid me?
For those of you who do not know, we are holding an auction/fundraiser dinner for my mom this summer. If you would like to come and support us, let me know via text message or email (amy.alineevans7@gmail.com). If you have anything you would like to donate as well, just let me know. It would be awesome to see all of my friends come out and support my mom and my family. Texas Roadhouse will be catering so you know it is gonna be damn good! Ha. There will be SO many things to buy and look at. Even if you don't want to buy anything, just come! I hope to see all of my friends there. Let me know if you want any more info on the event or what you can do to help! This is (hopefully) going to be pretty big!

Thanksss guysss!

the ballad of love and hate

Love writes a letter and sends it to hate.
My vacations ending. I'm coming home late.
The weather was fine and the ocean was great
and I can't wait to see you again.

Hate reads the letter and throws it away.
"No one here cares if you go or you stay.
I barely even noticed that you were away.
I'll see you or I won't, whatever."

Love sings a song as she sails through the sky.
The water looks bluer through her pretty eyes.
And everyone knows it whenever she flies,
and also when she comes down.

Hate keeps his head up and walks through the street.
Every stranger and drifter he greets.
And shakes hands with every loner he meets
With a serious look on his face.

Love arrives safely with suitcase in tow.
Carrying with her the good things we know.
A reason to live and a reason to grow.
To trust. To hope. To care.

Hate sits alone on the hood of his car.
Without much regard to the moon or the stars.
Lazily killing the last of a jar
Of the strongest stuff you can drink.

Love takes a taxi, a young man drives.
As soon as he sees her, hope fills his eyes.
But tears follow after, at the end of the ride,
Cause he might never see her again.

Hate gets home lucky to still be alive.
He screams o'er the sidewalk and into the drive.
The clock in the kitchen says 2:55,
And the clock in the kitchen is slow.

Love has been waiting, patient and kind.
Just wanting a phone call or some kind of sign,
That the one that she cares for, who's out of his mind,
Will make it back safe to her arms.

Hate stumbles forward and leans in the door.
Weary head hung, eyes to the floor.
He says "Love, I'm sorry", and she says, "What for?
I'm your and that's it, Whatever.
I should not have been gone for so long.
I'm your's and that's it, forever."

You're mine and that's it, forever.

new music

I've been doing what I love most lately--and that's: finding new music (may be old to some of you).
I have grown extremely fond of the following artists:

  • The Avett Brothers (I and Love and You)
  • JayMay (Autumn Fallin')
  • April Smith (Great Picture Show)
  • The Decemberists (Hazards of Love...(will explain this album))
  • Bon Iver (For Emma.. Forever Ago--( my love for him just bloomed again))
  • Taylor Swift (Speak Now (Don't mock))
  • Christina Perri (The Ocean Way Session (she doesn't have an actual album.. yet.))
  • Ingrid Michaelson (Girls and Boys)

That's mostly it for now.
I'm dying here- there are so many good artists! I love Pandora for introducing me to a couple of these.

Now for The Decemberists album, "Hazards of Love."
Crazy...
Read all about it here. These guys do a better job of explaining it than I could ever do.
They are nuts! But so awesome. I love it. Their lyrics are so deep and so powerful I can't even grip onto them most of the time.

The Avett brothers... WOW! There are quite a few band members, but a few of them are brothers. They are great. Really powerful and really touching.
I recommend any or all of these albums to anyone! Give them a shot, tell me what you think.

Another thing, my mom has been diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer. No, I don't want you to ask how I am because I am FINE. Ask how she is. But anyways, that's not what this is about. So my mom has Breast Cancer, and the other night I kinda got a little bruise on my heart by a boy (ha! Imagine that). Well I've been pretty down this week and and I went to the mall today at lunch to finish up some Christmas shopping. I was going to stop at Chick-Fil-A on my way out to get a parfait and a Cherry Coke. I saw my friend from Roadhouse working and said hi to him. Well when the girl rang me up, she just said, "K we will have it right out to you." My friend from Roadhouse bought my food. Just when I think thing only get shittier, someone does something like that and it changes my attitude all the way. I know it was stupid, and I know it was little, but it made my week. Don't think twice when you have opportunities to make someone's week.

12.03.2010

you'd rather run

I found a new artist! Well, Pandora found it for me!
Her name is Jaymay and she is great! She isn't that big, but if you like Kate Nash, Ingrid Michaelson, Iron and Wine, Lenka, or Meiko, she's your girl! Check her out! Jaymay here!

11.22.2010

Day 21.. glorious.

Day 21:
Favorite TV show:
I don't know why I really have to answer this...
but..

Best. Show. Ever. Sluttiest show ever? Yes. Best show ever? Yes.
I need to vent. I am so sick of people and their problems. I'm sorry, but there is real suffering out there. Quit bitchin' about the little things. There are life-changing events happening to good people every single day and you're complaining about something so insignificant and so small. Another thing. I hate when people complain about trust issues. Guess who's fault it is that you have "trust issues?" Yours. Only yours. I was told once by someone that I never let my wall down. What the hell ever! I'm the most open booked person I know. I don't care who knows what about me. If something I tell someone about me could help them along their way, you bet I will tell them. If someone lets me down, it's on them. Not me.

Sorry. Just had to vent.
Thought this was the most effective way to do it.

one more thing..
I guess you really did it this time
Left yourself in your warpath
Lost your balance on a tightrope

Lost your mind tryin' to get it back
Wasn't it easier in your lunchbox days?
Always a bigger bed to crawl into
Wasn't it beautiful when you believed in everything?
And everybody believed in you?

There's some things you can't speak of
But tonight you'll live it all again
You wouldn't be shattered on the floor now
If only you would sing what you know now then
Wasn't it easier in your firefly-catchin' days?
And everything out of reach, someone bigger brought down to you
Wasn't it beautiful runnin' wild 'til you fell asleep?
Before the monsters caught up to you?
It's okay, life is a tough crowd
32, and still growin' up now
Who you are is not what you did
You're still an innocent
Time turns flames to embers
You'll have new Septembers
Every one of us has messed up too
Lives change like the weather
I hope you remember
Today is never to late to
Be brand new
It's okay, life is a tough crowd
32, and still growin' up now
Who you are is not what you did
You're still an innocent

"Music is what feelings sound like."

Day 5: Something that makes you feel better:

I'm gonna go with my nieces and nephews. No matter how sad I am they always make me happy. They are so freaking funny and fun and I realllly like them!! I like them more than I like their parents. But going shopping with Katherine and Angie helps too! I have thee greatest family:)

KATE NASH TONIGHT!!!:)

10.21.2010

blog. blog. blog

Helllo everyone! I don't know why I blog anymore. I really have nothing to say. I should probably be doing homework instead, but I am bored. So I will blog. blog. blog.

YAY! Tori had her baby! Riloh Jane Meyers was born on Saturday, October 16, 2010. I'm not joking when I say this and I'm not just being nice, but she is THEE cutest little thing. She has the chubbiest cheeks:) I am SO happy for Tori and her little family! It's about time!

I love my freaking friends! I had such an amazing night last night! It was so much fun.... Carissa and I spent all day together and went shopping for Halloween costumes. Did I mention that I LOVE OCTOBER? Yeah, so does the rest of the world, right? Laugh! But after shopping, we went to our Trainer outing for Roadhouse. I love my job so much! The people I work with are so much fun. I bought THEE most awesome glasses... Like really, the best purchase I have ever purchased..? Ha. Haunted Hollow SUCKS. DO NOT GO!!! It's really lame. I would have been PISSED had I paid to get in. Although, the clowns scared me SO bad! I freaking HATE clowns.
My great purchase. (the glasses)
Confession: I used to HATE John Mayer. HATE. but guess what? I love him now! I am OBSESSED with the songs: Slow Dancing in a Burning Room, Gravity, The Heart of Life, and so many others. He is so awesome. I regret ever dissing him.

Speaking of music, I did not get to go to Jarrod Gorbel's concert. I attended a funeral and I was just drained. I AM SO MAD! A friend from work, Trace, got to meet him!! But I'm going next time FOR SURE and I'm totally gonna meet him and... well... get familiar with him ;) laugh! Oh ya, and did I mention that I got deleted from someone's facebook because I said how badly Nickleback sucks? She could be reading this right now... But really? Does anyone REALLY like Nickleback? And even if you do, am I not allowed to have an opinion on the matter? Ha people are so awesome. If you know anything about music you will know the following bands are so shitty: Nickleback, Creed, Hinder, and anyone that sounds like them.
Oh hell.. don't get me started.

Anyways, blogging world, I'm pretty happy as of right now. I'm looking forward to spending the weekend in Ephraim. I miss my C2 girls. I'll update the world on my trip, no worries.

PS does anyone know where you can get horse shampoo? (To make my hair grow)

10.12.2010

life.

I love it. I love the irony of life. It's so great.
I saw Easy A last night. I highly recommend it. It's a very unique, hilarious movie.

This week holds a lot of great things. I miss Roadhouse, ha, I feel like I never work there anymore.
This Saturday is Jarrod Gorbel. LOVE! I am going by myself if Mitch doesn't go with me. Yes, that's how ridiculous I am!

Speaking of music.. The Avett Brothers. You heard of them? If not, listen. Please do. They are great. My dad actually introduced me to them. My dad is the biggest baller I know.

My family and I have good talks. I went to Idaho for my cousin, Shelby's wedding. It was SO much fun. Yeah, right? I had fun in Idaho? Not just Idaho, but Blackfoot Idaho! What the freaking crap? My cousins are so great. Shelby looked beautiful at the wedding. I am realizing how important it is to stay in touch with family. The (Mike) Evans boys couldn't have picked better wives. Those girls are so awesome. Katherine, Angie, Mitch, my dad, and I went to a Chinese place and it was AMAZING! Haha, and I don't really like Chinese! I love my family. Even if we are dysfunctional. All of us. And really weird.

Carissa, Noelle, Sarah, and I went to the BYU vs Weber soccer game in Provo on Friday
PS don't ever play laser tag with Carissa on your team; you'll lose because of her scream.
She ran around like a chicken with it's head cut off screaming.
If that is possible.

xoxo
