hairline

you all know (or should... if you didn't, now you do) that i HATE my hairline. hate hate hate. so much. it's like a super weird widow's peak. all i want to do is be able to pull my hair back in a (no part) ponytail without looking like a freaking weirdo (my chubby cheeks do not help this--pulled back hair=fatter looking face.). but... it helps when i find celebs with my same hairline and helps me to know i'm not a freak!

blake lively! this is exactly how my hairline is. even my favorite celebs have the weirdness

kourtney kardashian.. who cares, right?

ahhhh.. my girl! an inspiration

sandra bullock.. rocking it.
ha ha ha i had to
this is so dumb that i'm posting about this. but really. I HATE MY HAIR LINE.

what we've really been up to.

best picture ever, right?
starving after the wedding:)

well, after nate and i got married, as you can imagine, we went on a honeymoon. we went to florida! i loved it. it was colder than it should have been, but it was super fun. we went to universal studios and went to the best beaches in america. here are some highlights:
siesta key--the most beautiful sand.. eva
nate got to go to buffalo wild wings... where his cronies (he wishes)  dan patrick and the danettes hang out
and i happened to be followed by everything chuck bass! his hotel is even in florida!
it was so much fun and i am so sad it's over.

now... we are both back in school. nate is in his last semester and (hopefully) he graduates! i still have like 34 years of school left... grr. we are living in my aunt amy's basement and there's a 35 minute commute... which is not great. we carpool, but it's kind of a pain in my arse. it's been an adjustment to be married. it seems like once you get married, none of your friends want to even hang out. it's weird, but i know being married is much more important than friends. i guess we will just have to make friends with other married people... gross. kidding, of course. we've been watching the oc... it's awesome. that's one thing i love about being married... watching tv series. doesn't it seem like all marrieds do that? ha. nate is hoping to find a full time job soon and when he does, we will get our own place. i'm really excited to be an "official" married couple and have a place to call our own. til then, i am so grateful for my aunt and uncle's help. nate's SIL... well i guess she's mine, too, had her baby last week. she is so cute. i usually think newborns are ugly, but she is the dang cutest thing i've ever seen. having nieces and nephews is so much fun and i'm so excited for nate that he gets to experience this.

i am definitely a different person since i got married. i am more conscious of others' feelings and i am more supportive of those i love. i am still in love with chuck bass and blair waldorf... don't you worry.
my wedding was such a ball. i watch the videos and i just want to cry because i want to relive that day over and over again.
http://vimeo.com/35270831
http://vimeo.com/35270416

although marriage is an adjustment, i really do love it. sometimes i get sad when i see my single friends doing things, but then i realize what's important and i am so glad i have that with nate. ew. i am so cheesy.

as far as music goes, i have been enjoying gotye, young the giant, and lana del rey lately. nate hates lana. hates. maybe it's because i play her 100x a day. but i do that with every song i love. so he is just going to have to get used to it.
that's all for now!

my gossip girl experience

Okay, okay. We all know about my obsession with GG. Well... I went to NYC solely to find Chuck Bass.. (Not really. I went because I wanted to live my dream. And live it, I did!) Nate thinks this is annoying that I'm so weirdly obsessed enough to post about it, but this isn't for any of you GG haters! It's for my GG lovers like Whittney. I already posted these pictures on FB but this is more of a journal so I HAD to do both. I was so blissfully happy on the GG tour. But, I was also a bit disappointed to find out some of the secrets. I'll share if you'd like.. yes? Cool. Well shots like Blair's Penthouse (scroll down) aren't actually shot in those buildings. They are shot in the studio in Queens! QUEENS! I had no idea! Made me a little sad, but either way, I walked turf where my favorite people have walked!

People will ask me what the most exciting part about my trip was and I can't really pin point it. Minus the whole 100 degree extremely humid weather, it was amazing. I loved everything we did. I loved the idea of being whoever I wanted to be for just a week. And I was exactly what I wanted to be. I felt really cool in NYC. No, you think I'm joking, but I'm dead serious.

New York is a whole new world! Everything looked just as it does on TV, but it FELT completely different. When you watch TV and see these things, you feel like it's so far off. When you get there it's kind of like you're in a dream. An awesome one. Not the kind of dream you are thinking of creeps! Anyways, it's amazing. I think everyone should go there. I was seriously depressed after the GG tour. I just wanted to live their lives! Is that ridiculous? You know when guys get all bummed and ornery after their favorite sports team loses? That's how I felt. Anyways, I'm tired of babbling about this because it is making me even more sad and it's making me look even more pathetic. I'm only posting the pictures of me from Gossip Girl sites. Enjoy fellow bloggers!
Where Chuck was about to propose to Blair. Until Dorota had to go into labor .

Chuck's hotel:)

Eating Macaroons just like Blair when she is trying to get over Chuck
Henri Bendel! Serena and Blair's (and now my) favorite place to shop

The lady at the store told me that Blair wore this on the show... I couldn't find it though.

Gossip Girl history! Right where Chuck first told Blair he loves her!

Nate's house

Lunch on the Met steps.. living vicariously through GG girls

Blair's outside shot of her penthouse

Bi's dumping yogurt on Blair's head.

Nate tries to fight chuck here... pins him up against a car because he finds out that C took B's V card.
"I took from her what she kept throwing at you and you kept turning it down!"-Chuck to Nate

The Van Der Woodsen home

I just love it. But it also makes me so sad.
How pathetic am I?

25,26,27,28

oops:) a little behind
Day 28:
what do you predict about your future?
Um... I swear this question was asked before, but I'll give it a shot.
One day, ONE day, I will graduate.
that's about as far as it goes. ha:)

Day 27:
list your goals
Graduate
I don't really like making goals cause I get PISSED when I don't achieve them. But for today, my goals are to get my Micro done and an English paper done. we'll see how that goes!

Day 26:
a habit you wish you didn't have
Oh my heck. I hate, hate, HATE that I bounce my leg and bite my cheeks and twirl my hair. I only do those things when I'm nervous or uncomfortable. (Except for twirling my hair-I always do that.) It's so weird

Day 25:
your first love
Really though..
I don't know that one.
so I guess that means I haven't had one yet?
I dunno.
There are different levels of love.
I think my first "true" (so dumb) love should be my last.
K I can't do that cheesy crap.
haha

So.. there's this song I'm obsessed with lately:
Basket Case by Sara Bareilles.
"I've been saving your place, but what good does it do?"
Seriously though, check it out.

11.22.2010

Day 21.. glorious.

Day 21:
Favorite TV show:
I don't know why I really have to answer this...
but..

Best. Show. Ever. Sluttiest show ever? Yes. Best show ever? Yes.
I need to vent. I am so sick of people and their problems. I'm sorry, but there is real suffering out there. Quit bitchin' about the little things. There are life-changing events happening to good people every single day and you're complaining about something so insignificant and so small. Another thing. I hate when people complain about trust issues. Guess who's fault it is that you have "trust issues?" Yours. Only yours. I was told once by someone that I never let my wall down. What the hell ever! I'm the most open booked person I know. I don't care who knows what about me. If something I tell someone about me could help them along their way, you bet I will tell them. If someone lets me down, it's on them. Not me.

Sorry. Just had to vent.
Thought this was the most effective way to do it.

one more thing..
I guess you really did it this time
Left yourself in your warpath
Lost your balance on a tightrope

Lost your mind tryin' to get it back
Wasn't it easier in your lunchbox days?
Always a bigger bed to crawl into
Wasn't it beautiful when you believed in everything?
And everybody believed in you?

There's some things you can't speak of
But tonight you'll live it all again
You wouldn't be shattered on the floor now
If only you would sing what you know now then
Wasn't it easier in your firefly-catchin' days?
And everything out of reach, someone bigger brought down to you
Wasn't it beautiful runnin' wild 'til you fell asleep?
Before the monsters caught up to you?
It's okay, life is a tough crowd
32, and still growin' up now
Who you are is not what you did
You're still an innocent
Time turns flames to embers
You'll have new Septembers
Every one of us has messed up too
Lives change like the weather
I hope you remember
Today is never to late to
Be brand new
It's okay, life is a tough crowd
32, and still growin' up now
Who you are is not what you did
You're still an innocent

11.12.2010

oooh my favorite thing!!(better late then never)

Day Ten.
What do you look for in a guy?
Where do I begin? I mean, really? Okay... I'll start.
Well, I heard somewhere that before 25 (on average, of course), a person doesn't know what he/she LIKES but only what he/she does NOT like. So, here's what I THINK I like:
  • I would like him to be taller than me... hopefully! I'm only 5'3!
  • I would like him to be attractive... of course. But I'm not TOTALLY shallow (at least I'd like to believe that)
  • I DO NOT care how much money he makes. I mean, yeah, be able to take me to dinner once in awhile, but I am so much more of a quality time person rather than a go out and do all these fun expensive things person. I really don't care how much money you make. As long as I can live comfortably.
  • I'm not gonna lie... I like teeth to be a little bit crooked! It gives character!
  • LOVE movies. He MUST love/ have a good taste in movies.
  • LOVE music. Once again, HE MUST love music. He mus appreciate my music, as weird as it can be.
  • He must be smart. I do not want to date someone who doesn't know the difference between "your" and "you're."
  • Have a sense of humor. I'm rarely serious. I rarely get offended. Please do the same. I don't want to have to worry about tip toeing around your feelings. You're a man. Be one.
  • According to a wise man, I'm a dominant person. So I will probably want to be with someone who is submissive. So yeah, I guess he's gotta be submissive;)
  • I would like an RM. Yes, I know, that sounds snotty. I don't care. I want one because I don't want my family to miss out on the blessings that they could have had had their father gone on a mission. Yes, not all RMs are amazing, but it's just what I'd like. I don't need to defend it, but I will say this: If a guy can't do what the prophet's asked and devote 2 years of his life to The Gospel, how can I expect him to devote eternity to me? I know, I'm a brat
  • If you like me, and you like me a lot, then make me a priority, NOT an option. I know, once again, snotty. I don't care. I have my requirements, okay! I want to be treated like a princess:)
  • Please, I know it sounds so stupid, but know, that black and brown do NOT go together. They Do NOT. Wow, I sound so superficial.
  • Know how to drive a stick ;)
  • Know how to work on cars AKA change his own oil
  • LET ME GET MY OWN DAMN DOOR ONCE IN AWHILE.
  • He needs to love children just as much (if not more than) as I do.
  • Obviously, have a testimony and a knowledge of The Gospel.
  • I'm not gonna lie... I hate baggy jeans. I hate girl pants, but fitted jeans are PERFECT
  • Someone who appreciates Anchorman the way I do.
  • Someone who can get along with my family. If my family doesn't like you, they probably never will... so you probably don't have a chance:/
  • Someone who accepts me for me... for my past... for my present.... for all of me.
  • Someone who will tickle my back! Whenever.
  • Someone who will let me do my thing, but put me in my place when I'm out of line.
  • Someone who can handle (and maybe actually LIKE) my psychotic family (haha)
I'm not gonna lie, the list could go on and on and on......

But, basically, someone like this:
Hahahhaha not really, I just wanted to share this greatness with the blogging world.

But really, someone like him... well, maybe him just for fun;)

11.02.2010

Day number 2

Challenge Day 2
Name your celebrity crush and 5 things you would do with them
Ed Westwick (Chuck Bass)

You have no idea the things I would do with him... But to name a few:
1. Become his girlfriend
2. Let him use... and abuse (if he's into it) me.
3. Use (and abuse) his body.
4. Use (and abuse) his money.
5. Convert him to The Church, then marry him.
oooh sooo fine!
Admit it, Admit it.
xoxo

tribute!

I have wanted to post this for awhile...
A tribute to my favorite TV show: Gossip Girl

"All guys are jerks. But they get hotter with age, and we learn to be more tolerant."

"The faster you rise, the harder you fall."

"The best way to get over someone, is to get under someone else"

"You don't know a good thing until it's gone. And found something else."

"It's often said that, no matter the truth, people see what they want to see. Some people might take a step back and find out they were looking at the same big picture all along. Some people might see that their lies have almost caught up to them. Some people may see what was there all along. And then there are those other people. The ones that run as far as they can so they don't have to look at themselves."

"Sometimes, in an effort to spread the most outrageous rumors, we look over the very thing that's even more scandalous—the truth. An the only thing more shocking than the truth are the lies people tell to cover it up."

"They say a leopard can't change his spots. But some things do change. The path not taken can become a road trip. Being grounded can lead to something groundbreaking."

"If there's one thing I've learned, it's that there would be no gossip without secrets. You might be brave enough to reveal your secret only to have it used against you. Or someone else's secret might effect you in unexpected ways. There are some secrets you're only too happy to keep. Others surface only to be buried away deeper than they were before. But the most powerful secrets are the truths you thought you could never reveal. That once spoken change everything."

"Dreams. Everybody has them. Some good. Some bad. Some you wish you could forget. Sometimes you realize you've outgrown them. Sometimes you feel like they're finally coming true. And some of us just have nightmares. But no matter what you the dream, when morning comes, reality intrudes and the dream begins to slip away. "

"Just like the seasons, people have the ability to change. It doesn't happen very often but when it does it's almost always right. Sometimes it takes what's broken becoming whole again. Sometimes it takes opening up to new people and letting them in. But most times it takes just one person who is truly afraid to show what they feel. Getting an opportunity they never thought possible. And some things never change."

"Some endings take a long time to reveal themselves, but when they do they're almost too easy to ignore...Some beginnings start so quietly you don't even notice they're happening. But most endings come when you least expect them. And what they portend is darker than you've ever imagined. Not all beginnings are cause for celebration. A lot of bad things begin"

"Mistakes. We all make them. They usually start with the best of intentions. Like keeping a secret to protect someone. Or getting some distance from the person you've become. Sometimes we don't even know what mistakes we've made to get us where we are. Or we figure it out just in time to make it right again. But every mistake happens for a reason. To teach you a lesson you would otherwise never learn. And hopefully you never make that mistake again."

"Growing up means one thing: independence. We all want it. Sometimes we use other people to try and get it for ourselves. Sometimes we find it in each other. Sometimes our independence comes at the cost of something else. And our cost can be high. Because more often than not, in order to gain our independence we have to fight. Never give up. Never surrender. "

"There are songs that make us want to dance. Songs that make us want to sing along. But the best songs are the ones that bring you back to the moment you first heard them. And once again, break your heart. "

"Sometimes it's hard to see the lines we've drawn. Until we cross them. That's when we rely on the ones we love to pull us back. And give us something to hold on to.Then there are the clearly marked lines. The ones that if you dare cross you may never find your way back."

"With enough time eventually we all see what was right in front of us. And realize no matter how long it took, it was worth the wait. But for some, that time never comes. Instead of healing old wounds, the wait just open new ones. Time after time."

"While most people think it's our brain that controls our actions, it's often our heart that gets the biggest workout. It can make us do the craziest of things. But it can also let us take a chance on new adventures. Because when we open our heart we can explore a world of love. And be pleasantly surprised by the people already in our life. But unfortunately our hearts are very sensitive. And when they're broken everything around us is shattered."

"And all in an instant, everything changes. We leave the past behind and speed toward the unknown. Our future. We set out for far away places and try t find our self. Or try to lose ourselves. Exploring pleasures closer to home. The problems start when we refuse to let change happen, and cling to old habits. But if we hold on to the past too tight, the future may never come. 'Til death do us part."

"In the prestigious buildings of Manhattan's elite, sometimes the door we open belongs to someone else. And sometimes we let someone in, only to be left out in the cold. Yet sometimes, despite what we may want, the door just has too many locks."

    You know you love me.
          xoxo. (LAUGH)
